Our Story

Bhoomi and Amar's love story began on April 2nd, 2011. She was a pharmacy student in West Palm Beach, Florida and he was a medical student in Miami, Florida. It took Amar a while to plan the first date due to studying for his Step 1 Examination and working through his Surgery rotation. On his last day of his Surgery rotation, Amar planned what he thought was the perfect date. He cooked enchiladas and was trying to figure out why his unripened avocados would not turn into guacamole when Bhoomi knocked on the door. After some wine and finishing up the only meal Amar knows how to cook, they headed to Cirque De Soile - Eloize at the Adrienne Arsht Center. While enjoying the show, Bhoomi discovered how bad Amar's sweet tooth was when he suggested that they head to Fratelli La Bufala in South Beach and grab some dessert. He got Bhoomi's favorite dessert Tiramisu, and deciding it was not enough, he also ordered Crepes Nutella. They finally headed to Love & Hate lounge where they danced the night away! The rest was history!

On October 11th, 2014, Amar patiently waited to surprise Bhoomi at the Delray Marina in Florida

Bhoomi, who thought Amar was on an ICU overnight call, thought she was heading for a pharmacy networking cruise until she saw Amar

Together on a boat, the two cruised towards the sunrise, and Amar presented Bhoomi with a book highlighting their relationship through different Bollywood posters

Once she finished the book, Amar got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him.

She said "YES!"

She patiently waited for her ring for 5 seconds until she said "Amar you can put the ring on now!"

He put a ring on it!

After some chai, champagne, and breakfast...

They played a board game which Amar happily allowed Bhoomi to win (the game was rigged...)

As they continued along the intercostal to Amar's hometown of Boca Raton, one more surprised awaited Bhoomi

At the Waterstone Hotel, their closest friends and family greeted them with cheers and fanfare

2 Families became 1 that day!

Engagement Ceremony

Our traditional engagement ceremony was held on Friday, April 11th, 2015 in Boca Raton, Florida. All it took was for Bhoomi's mother to accept a coconut from Amar' mother and the engagement was complete! Bhoomi and Amar were blessed by friends and family that attended (and were fed an overload of Ferrero Rochers). The ceremony concluded with family members from each side feeding each other brown sugar to symbolize the union of two families. To celebrate the joyous occasion, friends and family of the couple danced the night away! We are looking forward to celebrating our wedding with even more friends and family!
